Thanks gibbo. Via Adelaide, I don't know. Wicken is a more common form of the name.

John is listed under 'Single Men who are Coming to Friends.'

I have no entries for John William in any Directories or E/R. Needs someone with access. Only the Newtown section of the Sands Directories are on-line.
