No birth for a Robert in NSW index.

Can't see a death that fits for Robert as a son.

Thanks Geoff.

No mention of William in Jessie's notices.

Birth 6354/1884 FORSYTH INA L S - WILLIAM A - JESSIE E - PETERSHAM * Seems to be the only birth.

Ashfield not far away. But don't know how Robert would fit in.

A death 1913 - 1920 ? No death for William that fits.

Nothing in Trove after 1896 for William Alfred Forsyth.

??
Death FORSYTH WILLIAM 8122/1910 JAMES MARGARET - SYDNEY

That one is not old enough.

William Alfred was born before 1857. No birth in England with middle name Alfred.

The Forsyth family with son William an infant who arrived Assisted in 1853 were from Scotland.

No other Assisted to NSW that fits.

I think the Wagga one ended up in the army in 1915.

I read the mother's name on William's marriage as Stamworth.

??
Marriages Mar 1846
Forsyth William St Geo Han Sqr 1 45
Stammers Mary St Geo Han Sqr 1 45

FORSYTH, WILLIAM ALEXANDER - STAMMERS
GRO Reference: 1853 M Quarter in BRENTFORD Volume 03A Page 52

Not that census or marriage or birth.

There is no other birth in GRO for a William or a William Alfred before 1858 with mmn Stamworth or similar.

Marriage say he was born Middlesex.

I may have to go soon. Place open for inspection again at 12.

No marriage in Scotland for A William to a Mary that fits.

So what to believe?

From NSW 1878 marriage
William Alfred Forsyth - Bachelor - Middlesex - Writing Clerk - full - Riley Street - William Forsyth & Mary (Stamworth) - Wine and Spirit Merchant

Looking for a William born say 1847 - 1858 with parents William & Mary in Middlesex in 1861 returns only the above family with A = Alexander.

I can't find a William Forsyth in Middlesex in 1861 who fits 'Wine and Spirit Merchant' as per marriage.

There is something wrong... I can't put my finger on it...

This is spooky.. Marriage has Riley Street..

New South Wales, Australia, Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930
William Alfred Forsyth
Birth Place: Scotland
Arrival year: 1875
Arrival Country: Australia
Vessel Arrived In: La Hogue
Date of Admission/Photo: Feb 1896
Gaol: Parramatta
Gaol Location: North Parramata, NSW
Record Type: Description Book
[Has 54 Riley Street under the entry. Occ = jeweller. In the age column it says 1863]

There are errors, but the address... Probably coincidence

Thanks Geoff.

Ok. If not full age then if it's him then nothing in the marriage is correct.

I don't have dob or age at death for Jessie.

About 30x William Forsyth born in Scotland 1860 - 1864 but none with middle name Alfred on SP.

No marriage for a William to a Mary Stamworth. * Hunter, Neilson, Salmond

La Hogue not listed as arriving in 1875 in NSW Archives.

1877 is the closest but no Forsyth(e) on any La Hogue as assisted.

It may not be him, unless they separated.. There is a William Alfred Forsyth in 1901 census in Young, on his own. That may be the one who was in Wagga Wagga In 1913.
