Bap V1834356 18/1834 ALLINGHAM WILLIAM - JOHN - SOPHIA

Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of St. Philip's Sydney in the County of Cumberland in 1834
No. - When Baptised: 2 November 1834 When Born: 12 Octr. 1834 William son of John & Sophia Allingham Abode: Sydney Quality or Profession: Shipwright By whom the Ceremony was performed: William Cowper

Marriage 237/1856 ALLINGHAM WILLIAM - ANDERSON LUCY ELEANOR - SYDNEY * 19 May

Not found on the list of Sydney CofE marriages but that list does not include the centre of Sydney parishes for some reason.

Probably CofE and so St. James, St. Philip, St. Barnabas, St. Mark, St. George, St. Matthias, Holy Trinity or Christ Church St. Laurence.

I expected to find a notice in Trove.

Probably one of St. James, St. Philip, St. Mark, St. George, St. Matthias.

St Barnabas a bit too far south and Holy Trinity a bit too far west and St. Laurence is 'High' church so more like RC.

Thanks Geoff.

Yes, I missed Surry Hills St. David.

Cathedral church, St Andrew after 1856. ... consecrated in 1868, making it the oldest cathedral in Australia.
