COOPER, Douglas (ex 1st Light Horse 1914-1918, Major E. D. 1939-1949).-June 21, 1971, at his residence, Seaforth, dearly loved husband of Phyllis, loved father of Pamela, Douglas, Alan (deceased), Jennifer and Janet, fond grandfather of Jane and Graeme and dear brother of Jean (deceased), William (deceased), Hector and Colin. Aged 76 years.

Just trying to narrow the years of possbile deaths down.

It appears from Douglas's marriage notice in 1924 both William and Jane are alive.

MRS. J. A. COOPER.
Mrs. Jane Ann Cooper, wife of Mr. William Cooper, founder and principal of the firm of Messrs. William Cooper and Sons, the Corso, Manly, died recently. 'Mrs. Cooper was bom in Aberdeen, Scotland, and was In her 76th year. She and Mr. Cooper were on the eve of celebrating the golden jubilee of their marriage.
The funeral took place at the Manlv Cemetery, where the Rev. A. M. Stevenson conducted the service. The chief mourners were Mr. William Cooper, senior (husband) ; Messrs. Douglas, William. Hector, and Colin Cooper (sons) ; Mr. and Mrs.R Law (son-in-law and t daughter) ; Messrs. Archie, Douglas, and Donald Cooper (grandsons) .

So William was still alive when Jane died in 1936 and he had died by 1940.
