Hello,

1851 England Census
Lincolnshire > Scawby > District 6b
No 108 on Schedule, James Street
Richard Bulmer head 26 stone mason b Yorks/Stokesley

Death
Surname: BULMER
Given Names: Richard
Event: D
Father: Unknown
Mother:
Age: 32
Birth Place: YORK
Year: 1857
Reg Number: 1564

Richard's father is William and possibly a weaver, possibly died in Stokesley in 1864.

Remote chance that Richard's mother is Mary, died in 1838 or in 1866 aged 74.

Please see what can be found. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thank you very much. Can't be that one if unmarried.

Now I have to try and find some connection between Richard and the three children with William in 1841.

Given what is on Richard's marriage and death reg we may never be sure about his mother's name.

This is Richard's marriage. I might help with the search for him in 1841.

12 Sep 1843 Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England
Elizabeth SHARP (father John) Richard BULMER (father William)

I can see no sign of either Harriet or Hannah making it to Australia.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

I'm still working on this one. ;)

I can't find baptisms for Thomas, Harriet and Hannah or Richard.

Deaths Mar 1864
BULMER William Stokesley 9d 350
BULMER William Stokesley 9d 347

Richard & Elizabeth named their daughter Mary Ann Elizabeth. Thomas & Elizabeth named their first daughter Mary. I keep returning to possibility it is a Mary.

Deaths Jun 1838
BULMER Mary Stokesley 24 339

Turning to Richard's spouse:

Elizabeth SHARP(E) b. abt 1820 Scawby, Lincolnshire

Married in Kingston upon Hull in 1843. She is not with her parents in Glanford Brigg in 1841.

Please see if you can find Elizabeth in 1841.

Regards,

Dave

The William Bulmer in Stokesley you mention, and specifically his son Thomas b 1825, and grandson Richard b 1852 are part of our family. Richard married Matilda Brown and lived in Stokesley and Great Ayton all his life. Happy to share any infor but sounds like its not the connection you are looking for.:)

Hello and welcome to the Forum

Thanks for that info.

I will post my remote connection to the family. This topic was an attempt to fill some gaps.
