If it was that Mary, she was not around in 1841, the only death that looks possible is 1838 Q2, Stokesley.. Also this burial.

17 Jun 1838
Mary BULMER
Age 35
Stokesley, St Peter & St Paul

Geoff

EDIT: Age at marriage would be a bit young..

No baptism for Richard, Thomas, Harriet or Hannah. Probably missing some not in 1841 census.

I still can't find Harriet or Hannah in 1851.

If we go by age in census, shipping record and at death then Richard is not the one born Northallerton.

So what happened to the one born there in 1820? Finding a death/burial or in census would confirm we have 2x Richard.

Dorothy Bulmer
Gender Female
Christening Date 27 Sep 1840
Christening Place BROMPTON BY NORTHALLERTON
Father's Name William Bulmer
Mother's Name Ann

mmn Thompson not Gowland.

Jane Bulmer
Gender Female
Christening Date 16 Jan 1832
Christening Place BROMPTON BY NORTHALLERTON
Father's Name William Bulmer
Mother's Name Ann

mmn don't know.

We really don't know who William married or when. Mary Fletcher fits only because she died before 1841 census.

You've got to wonder if William in 1841 is the father of Thomas, Harriet and Hannah and not another family member looking after them.. Can't see a reference to any of their births with a father = William

No.

The other annoying thing is that the father of Richard born 1820 Northallerton is William a weaver.

Everything we have points to 1825 Stokesley.

Richard BULMER & Elizabeth SHARP
12 Sep 1843 Holy Trinity Hull, York, England
groom's father's name: William Bulmer [weaver]
bride's father's name: John Sharp
groom's marital status: Single
bride's marital status: Single
Batch: M012566

And, why did Thomas marry in Northallerton?

I've not traced Thomas or Elizabeth past 1861.

Can't see Richard the servant in 1841 in 1851.

If we really have 2x William the weaver and 2x Richard we only have one in 1841 and the other in 1851.

Not this one

BULMER, RICHARD 48
GRO Reference: 1850 D Quarter in GUISBROUGH Volume 24 Page 247

Can't find in 1861 or a death that fits to 1861.

This may restore a little faith..

Mary Bulmer
Baptism Date: 24 Feb 1818
Baptism Place: Stokesley
Father: William Bulmer
Mother: Mary
FHL Film Number: 919080

The PR has William as a weaver..

Thanks Geoff.

If we didn't have Richard's age in several records we would jump to the conclusion he was roughly the same age as Elizabeth, ie the one born 1820.

Scawby Parish Records - Baptisms (1819-1820)
No. 170 Decr. 16th 1819 Elizabeth daughter of John Newmarch & Rebekah Sharpe Scrawby Hatter Val ? Grantham Vicar
