Hi there,

Please could sks do a lookup in the 1851 census for:
William Cookson born 1838 Powerstock. He was listed as a Commander in the Royal Navy in the 1881 census and married to a Louisa from Germany. Not sure what year he was married.
His parents were George and Elizabeth.

Kind regards
Jackie

Thanks,
Where could he have been? He would have been 15 years old. I know that he was shown in 1879 as a Captain of Eagle Drill ship (RNR). Could he have started in the Navy at such a young age? His full name was William Edgar Decrackenthorpe Cookson, if that makes any difference.

Regards
Jackie
