Hi all,
Back again with Couppleditch.
Marriages please for William Couppleditch b.1812 Lincs. + Mary ? b.1816. Lincs.(And maybe Notinghamshire?).

In 1841, William Snr. were living in Wrangle, Lincs. (Transcribed as Crapfield).
Mary. 25. Wife.
William. 2. son.

Reg.dist. Boston.
Sub.reg. Bennington.

I know this marriage may be awkward.

-----------------------------------------

Also his son.
William Coupleditch b.1839. Wrangle. Lincs. + Lucy A. ? b.1840ish. Skirbeck. Lincs.
In 1871, William Jnr. was living in Boston, Lincs.
Lucy A. 26. Wife
Thomas. 11. son.
ED. 16
House. 152

The main problem is mistranscription of Couppleditch. I have found - Crapfield/Cupledich/Coupledich/Cuppleditch and others that I can't remember.

Thanks again.

Hi,

You've probably been here already but I have found two marriages on FreeBMD

William Cuppleditch married either Mary Ann Ashby or Mary Dawson

June 1838 Boston vol 14 page 396

William Cuppleditch married Lucy A Smith

Sep 1866 Boston vol 7a page 623

I appreciate that if son Thomas really was 11 years old in 1871 that woil;d mean that he was born 6 years before the marriage and that if Lucy really is his mother she would have been about 15 when she had him, but everything else fits!

Thanks mlt,
Have added Mary Dawson to my tree. One of the reasons being is that she has a son called Dawson Cuppleditch. So much for naming sons after fathers.

Lucy Ann Smith inserted also. Got her parents, quite easy for a Smith.

This line has been easy and hard, not many Cup/Cop/Coup/Cooplediches to find. But the mistrans. have been horrendous.

Many thanks again.
