I found a fairly well-informed tree that says that Mary Ann Gittoes and William Gittoes were on the Lucy Davidson with convict mother, Mary Ann Marshall, no mention of father... There are no details about George (father)..
That would fit what we know. We have no indication that William was a convict. So the two children came free on the convict vessel with their mother. I wonder why the trees have mother's name as BYERS.

Post #24 probably more accurate than Old Bailey age - 33 in 1832.

And 57 at burial in 1854.


If MARSHALL is a maiden name then ...

This puts Mary Ann's birth at abt. 1818..

:biggrin: Well, William's death reg says George.

As usual lots of the tress have copied stuff.

Any baptism for William? Some say 1821 Westminster others 1822.
