I am looking for a Birth Registration index for a William Darby (possibly spelt Darbey) born around 1845 in Rowley Regis (Staffordshire) or Dudley/Netherton (Worcestershire).
I have found him in all censuses from 1851 to 1901 and also have a copy of his Marriage Certificate (to Sarah Hollies in 1866).
I believe his father was George Darby, and his mother Priscilla Darby (was Hipkiss). He had two older sisters Anna (born 1840) and Eliza (1842), and four younger siblings Isacher (1847), Priscilla (1850), Joseph (1852) and John (1856).
I have found birth registration indexes for Eliza, Priscilla and Joseph (all list mother's maiden name as Hipkiss).
I cannot found a birth registration index for Anna.
I have found birth registration indexes for Isacher and John, but confusingly the mother's maiden name is listed as Hollies (the surname of William's future wife, must be coincidence), so I don't think these are correct!
I have also found a Christening record for a William Darbey in Dudley in 1849, father listed as George Darbey and mother listed as Priscilla.
But no birth registration index!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
