Hi Friends.

I need help please to find William E Green born about 1876 in Eyton, Denbighshire, I did originaly think I had him as plain William Green giving his place of birth as Ruabon but I have now been told I may have the wrong family  , I have him in 1901 living with wife Anne and 10 month old son Allen (my husbands father) at Rhosllanerchrugog Denbighshir. I am unable to find him in the 1891, 1881, or even a birth for William E Green,

All help will be appreciated.

Gwen. :)

Think this may be him 1891 census RG12 4612/155/8 at Hall St, Ruabon
Rhosllannerchrugog. Denbighshire

William Green head age 41 Coalworker
Sarah wife 34
Wm son 14 Brickmaker
Roberta? son 13 "
Polly daug 11 scholar
Merodoc son 8 scholar

all born locally

a couple of births one may be him [if lucky]

1. William Green Jan/Feb/March qr 1876 Wrexham 11b 291
2. William Green July/Aug/Sep qr 1876 Wrexham 11b 312
one less likely as it is 1879 is William Edward Green Jan/Feb/Mar qr Wrexham 11b 281.

no luck with 1881 census. I notice on ancestry there is a Green Family tree owner gwensay, this is perhaps you. :)

Hi Pejay.

Yes I am Gwensway.

The William Green you have found is the one I thought was correct But I have now had an e-mail from a lady in NZ who thinks that I have the wrong one, I am 100% certain the 1901 William E Green born 1876 at Eyton is correct, but it all seams to be wrong before, 1e 1891, 1881,

Thank you for your help, I am not sure about the birth certificates, if I can find the right one I think that will help,

Gwen :)

Hi Gwen,

Do you have hubbys Grandparents marriage cert or his fathers birth cert.

Steve.:)
Hi Steve,

I dont actualy have the cert but from what he has told me I know that granddad died in 1910 and that his grandma ann lost her father before she was born. what I do not understand is lack of birth record for William E Green for 1876 abt of Eyton, Denbighshire, if William had a middle name I would think he would be registered with that name at birth:confused:

Hi Gwen,
Get the certs, and you will find out what names and where. Start with facts/records/certs. That was my mistake.

We can't go on what people remember with 100% accuracy.

I had a problem with my Grandfather, as he went by the name of Eli Ives, and was never called anything else. I eventually found out that his christened name was Frederick Eli Ives by ordering my fathers birth cert.
And since that was sorted, I've whizzed through my Ives line. Well almost.
