William George Cowling was born 27 Sep 1877, son of Henry and Mary Ann Cowling. Place of birth could be shown as Brentor, Mary Tavy or Tavistock, Devon.

I have census entries up to 1901. He sailed from Liverpool for Canada in 1904, landing at Montreal on 5 June. His stated destination was Toronto. After that I have lost all track of him. There was a William Cowling , age 30, who landed Liverpool from New York on board "Campania" 2 Feb 1907, but without any further details I have no way of knowing if this was him.

I have searched several Canadian sources, and have had help from members of other sites, but can find no record of him in Canada. I have eliminated "William Cowling 1877" associated with Papes Ave, Worts Ave (both Toronto), King Seattle Washington, Uxbridge, and CEF/WW1 fallen.

Is there anyone with better eyesight or a more imaginative approach who can help me find my great uncle, either in UK or "over the pond"?
