Looks like there was an older William bap 13th April 1784 parents William and Ann haven't found a death as yet.

This looks like William in 1841:

Name: Wm Goodwin

Where born: Shropshire, England
Hundred: Wenlock (Shrewsbury Liberties)
County/Island: Shropshire

Ann's age isn't given, William was a Waterman.

Very close fit for age and occ. Need to find more on this

Both William and Elizabeth were batchelor and spinster and the witnesses were
John Taylor and Francis (looks like) Barnch or Barnel

Amanda

The marriage entry doesn't give anything away. Both 'of this parish', married by Banns and the witnesses were John Taylor and Francis Barnet (who signs on other marriages on the page so is probably a Church Warden)

Thanks, Em' - Thanks, Amanda..

Not enough to link William to William b. c1740

Elizabeth Beb is a bit of a mystery, can't see a birth/bap. for her. There are a few variants Bebb, Bab, Babb etc, still nothing leaping out

Geoff

Baptism for Elizabeth Bebb

18 Oct 1789 Much Wenlock parents Joseph Bebb and Susannah

Marriage

Joseph Bebb/Susannah Evans 3 April 1788 Much Wenlock. Both of this Parish by Banns. Witnesses Mary Roberts and Theo Morrall (again probably a Church Warden as he signs on other marriages on the same page)

The only baptism for William which fits is 7 Oct 1785 Madeley parents William and Ann.

I'm presuming this is a son of the William who married Ann Humphreys in 1785

Another researcher found the bap. of William 1789 [b. Oct 1788] along with George [b. 1792], these bap's were lumped together in 1804 with a note "Omitted in their proper place". The 1788 could easily be misread as 1785, given the age and condition of the register. The image can be viewed on a subscription site.

I would say there is a minor issue with William/s in 1784/5, William b. c1740 married Ann in Mar 1785.

This doesn't help:

FS:
William Goodwin
Christening Date 13 Apr 1784
Place Madeley, Shropshire, England
Parents = William Goodwin & Ann

Having looked at the image of the baptism entry I agree it says 1788 and not 1785. However that still fits with Elizabeth Bebb's dob and gives him an age of 21 when they married in 1809.
