Hi

I am trying to find William Green born Eyton, Denbighshire 1876. He appears to be missing from the 1881 and 1891 census. In 1901 he was living in Rhosllanerchrugog, Denbighshire with wife Ann and son Allen (age 10 months, )

William is hubbies Grandfather. I have orderd williams birth cert which is for the year 1876,

There is a william listed in Holt Denbighshire but I have a feeling this is the wrong one.

Thank You.

Gwen:) :)

Hi Dave

Unfortunatly this is the wrong Green family, I did do some reserch on this one but found that it was the wrong line, My William Green was born in Eyton 1876 ie he is the one you have in 1901, Green seems to be common name and William Green is a quite common there is also one in Bersham also not the one I am looking for. also one in Holt age 2 in 1881 but my one would have been 5 hopefully I will find more information from his birth certificate when it arrives.

Thank you

Gwen :)

Hi All

I have now received the birth cert. of William Green, His father was William Edward Green b 1851, his mother was Mary Jones ? dob. but I cannot find them on 1881 or 1891 census. On Williams marriage cert 1899. to Anne Williams (dob 1876) it says that William Edward is deceased occ Miner. William states on the marriage cert to Ann that he is a Terra Cotta Finisher.

I have looked for a death of William Edward Green but have been unsuccessful.

Hi Gwen,

The 1891 entry that Dave found, has him as brickmaker. That is very close to a Terra Cotta finisher. Similar trade.

Just a thought.:)

Steve.:)
Hi Steve

Thanks, My problem is that William Edward Green was born Kineton, Warwickshire. 1851.

William Green was born Eyton, Denbighshire 1875 11 December.

Williams mum was Mary Jones, not Sarah.

There are/were several Green families in the Rhosllanerchrugog and Ruabon area which makes things more confusing and I do know that there was a William Green born around the same time as my one, it could well be that both williams worked at the brickworks as it was a large company Ruabon Brick was known country wide!

Hi
Just a thought, William Edward may have married twice. William was born 1875. Looking at the posts I made, on the 1881 census he is living with grandparents, why?. Also 1881 census William snr is living with Sarah and children aged 3 and 1. Could it be that they married shortly before the first was born, ie about 1877/8? Food for thought?

Hi

So far I have woked out that Edward Green B 1822 Kineton Warwickshire was William Edward Green's father at age 10 William is living in Eyton working as a servant for his uncle? John Green. In 1861 Edward came to live in Ruabon and remarried His first wife Amelia Pheasey had died) he married Elizabeth Davies a widow with 4 children between 1871 and 1881. In 1871 William was still single and living/working in Eyton. He married Mary Jones in AMJ 1875, their son William was born Dec 1875 the whole family seams to disapear then until 1901 census and of course the marriage of William (1875 Eyton) to Hubby's grandma Anne Williams. his address for this was Queen Street Ruabon

Gwen
