So William's parents were already in Sydney. I can't find an earlier arrival for a James Heaton.

Seems William was born in Co Down although 1841 census has bic Yorkshire.

Something is wrong Geoff.

If born Yorkshire why would a minister in Co Down certify his baptism ?

I have 4 images from the library today.

Image in post # 1 is the right-hand page and the other two images posted cut from the left-hand page.

I can't find the surname Heaton on Ros Davies' Co Down site.

Ok, a possibility. The top of the right-hand page has the surname changed.

Perhaps the left-hand page re Co Down does not belong to William Heaton.

We are then missing the correct left-hand page for William showing his sponsors etc.
