No not for sure.

Maybe easier as Aller

What about buying marriage cert, could that help.

The marriage cert IF filled out properly should have a whole heap of info on it such as parents names, place of birth etc. I have gotten marriage cert from that era and there has been very little info but others have had heaps on them. Marriage cert can be great as you can get info on the groom as well as the bride on one cert. So if filled out correctly it would be a big help.

I'll speak to cousin Kimba and if she doesn't know anything then we'll order marriage cert.

When daughter Lucy married it was as Allen, at a later date she had it reissued as Aller.:confused:

Can we find birth details on William?

Their a weird mob. As Nino Culotto would say.

Oz

I checked for births the other day and unless we have more info im not sure which one would be his, if any. To many William Allens around.

Maybe when Lucy married it was spelt with a "n" on the end of the name but when transcribed for the indexes it looked like a "r" Easily enough done with the cert. been so old maybe part of the N had worn away.

In the family cemetery they are listed as AllER on their headstones.

Dont think we have ever found Lucy's birth. Maybe her birth wasnt registered for some reason or she was born elsewhere. Her marriage or death cert. should state where she was born.
Actually her death cert. should list her kids and their ages at the time of her death if filled out correctly.
