Hello and welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for the details. Helen's death was found noted on the shipping record but good to have the TNA ref.

Main problem now is deciding if it's the same William James who moved to Victoria and later on to NSW.

Dave

??
Wm CATHERWOOD
Age: 23
Marital status: Single
***: Male
Occupation: Farmhand
Date of departure: 28 June 1907
Port of departure: London
Destination port: Brisbane, Qld.

That may be the arrival of a 3rd William Catherwood - one without the middle name James.

Several notices in Trove re a William Catherwood in Brisbane.

The only known bits of info that are correct.

Marriage 28 Nov 1912/B12589 Catherwood William James - Richardson Helen

1913 QLD Electoral Roll - Brisbane - Toowong
CATHERWOOD William James, Jones st., Auchenflower, engineer
CATHERWOOD Helen, Jones st., Auchenflower, home duties

William J Catherwood
Age: 27
Port of Departure: Sydney, NSW
Arrival Date: 2 Sep 1913
Port of Arrival: London, England
Ports of Voyage: Melbourne, Albany, Durban, Cape Town
Ship: 'Afric'
Shipping Line: White Star Line
Official Number: 110537
Occupation: Engineer

An engineer so probably not the farmer who arrived in 1907.

Deserted on 23 Nov 1912 in Sydney and married 28 Nov 1912 in Brisbane - not likely. Physical description fits the one in Vic. who died in Schofields.

So no birth or arrival or death for the one who married Helen.
