Not an easy one - nothing leaps out so to speak. It could be Jno or it could possibly be Thos and the surname could be Parrey or it could be Darney.

Is there a Census you can look at ? Or even a possible marriage for him?

Thanks Emeltee.

A NSW 1851 marriage so no census. NSW census for 1841 is the only one available.

I think it is Jno x for his mark. It's a D or a P and the P is not the same as that in Pleasant.

I'll search the NSW BMD for possible matches.

Ok, the P does not look like P in Pleasant. So Darney.

Death DARNEY JOHN L 2952/1860 CHARLES SARAH - BATHURST

I think that's probably it.
