Looking at a map of Paisley there is a Lawn Street, next to Sik Street and Gauze Street, near St Mirin's RC Cathedral and the present day A726.

Thanks Emeltee.

Lawn it looks to be.

... old Abbey of Paisley which is still used as the parish church for Abbey parish. ... which ran from the N transept along the line of Lawn Street to the Wall Neuk ...

Wish tracing the Carmichael nieces was as easy.

Rather curious. There are only four marriage dates with the minister's name in the right-hand column.

Two examples in the image below.

II Proclamations 27 June & 4 July paid 4/- and married on 5 July

III Proclamations 4 11 18 July paid 1/- and married on 23 July

No such entry for William and Janet.

31 July is in the column headed date of entry in the running sequence in the register.

I don't see how 31 July can be the date of marriage. Has to be after the last proclamation.

Thanks Ellie.

I can't claim all Malcolms but not sure if that family belongs.

This is a puzzle I'm working on. How does Margaret fit in? Daughter of one of Janet's brothers, but which one?

Can't find Helen as Wood or Carmichael in 1851 with or without James.

They are the parents of Marion and James is the eldest of the 5 and they married in 1845 so they are probably the parents of Catherine abt 1846 and Margaret abt 1853.
