I am particularly interested in a PATRICK LEAHY. He appears to have come to Australia around 1881 from Micholstown, Ireland. His parents (as listed on the death certificate) were William Leahey and Margaret Marney. Patrick married Caroline CASEY. She was the daughter of William Casey and Mary Ann Nolan/Nowlen and was born in Gundaroo. William Casey's parents (John and Mary Caroline Purcell) were both convicts. John was granted a Ticket-of-Leave for helping to capture a bushranger and the whole family appears to have settled in Tallagandra for many years. My Caroline and her siblings were born either in Gundaroo, Spring Flat or Back Creek.

I've just been out to vote at the local council elections.

1903-04 NSW Electoral Roll - THE MURRUMBIDGEE - NARRANDERA
LEAHEY Patrick, near Brewery, Narrandera, carter
LEAHEY Caroline, Narrandera, domestic duties

The Sydney Morning Herald - Sat 6 Jun 1908 p.24
FUNERALS
LEAHY.-The Friends of Mrs. P. J. LEAHY and FAMILY are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of their late dearly loved HUSBAND and FATHER, Patrick Joseph Leahy (late of Loco. Dept., Eveleigh), to leave 129 Eveleigh-street, Redfern, THIS (Saturday) AFTERNOON, at 1.30, for the Necropolis.
COFFlLL and COMPANY.

Does not look right to me. The marriage and electoral roll have no middle name for Patrick. Four years later he is in Sydney working for the railways ??
