Possible marriage of William Murray and Mary Ann Connor in 1878 in Orange, NSW
Possible death of William Murray 24 Aug 1923 aged 89
Possible death of Mary Ann Murray (Buried with him) 14 Aug 1935 aged 75
William's death shows his parents as Sage and Jane Murray
There is a birth for William in Scotland -
Name: William Murray
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: Mar 183
4Baptism Place: Halkirk,Caithness,Scotland
Father: Sage Murray
Mother: Jane Bruce

It would make sense that William's father was Sage as William and Mary Ann had a son called Robert Sage Murray
I think William arrived in Australia with his parents in 1839 so no record of them on any Scottish census records.

Assuming I have the correct Mary Ann, she would have been b. c1860 year before her father d. so she would be a Connor [I think] o_O

She was only about 16y when married..

Not necessarily that confusing, offspring born up to 1863 would have a surname, Connor and from *1863 would be McCutcheon.

Geoff

Not sure, Dave.. I guess only she will know that. But if she was b. before 1863 [looks like she was, even though not recorded] then she is a Connor, she must have known that to marry in that name!

Ok, I agree Geoff she was born around 1860 therefore Connor.

The details given to the journalist who wrote the obit was a condensed version with Mary as a McCutcheon.
