No luck with the arrival, but 2x offspring confirmed on SA Pioneers 1849 & 1851..

Mary's family look to have arrived Australia 1848 per 'Blonde' but they don't appear to be with them.. They arrived Oct so timescale OK, given the March marriage..

HARRIS, wife arrived 1848-10-01 on John Bartlett from London 48-06-15 * Another site just has Mr & Mrs Harris.

Others with 3 and 5 and 10 children ruled out as is the one arriving too late.

But the Blonde went to Victoria.

BUSSORAH MERCHANT from London to Plymouth
1848 November 10 - Adelaide
HARRIS Wm. (Sawyer and ag. labourer), wife (Jane - sempstress?) and child.

Then there should be births with mother = Jane.

1852 HARRIS Henry William HARRIS Jane TRIPLETT Adelaide 3/318
1853 HARRIS John Henry William HARRIS Jane TRIPLETT Adelaide 4/253

Can't see a birth on GRO with mmn Triplett

EDIT: Forget that. That was one of three sites that list the arrival of a William Harris - it looks to be an error listing wife as Jane.

I'm not sure who Edwin is either.

Very few Harris - Gribble marriages in Redruth 1837 - 1848.

Trying to rule out
BUSSORAH MERCHANT from London to Plymouth
1848 November 10 - Adelaide
HARRIS Wm. (Sawyer and ag. labourer), wife (Jane - sempstress?) and child.

Also trying to prove Edwin didn't end up in Australia around 1848.

Not sure you can.. This has the passenger list, "William Harris & wife & child" and if you scroll down you get this "William Harris & family ; Sawyer & Agricultural Labourer" Then to the right of that there is a Jane Harris who could be separate "Jane Harris ; seamstress" HERE

So that could still be your William if the child is Edwin and the wife = Mary..

Ok, thanks Geoff.

A bit of a puzzle.

William Harris, wife and child possibly William

7x William Harris born Redruth who could be that child and not one mmn Gribble.

No death in Vic. for Edwin with parents that match. Several deaths in SA and Vic. with no parents.

Several other births in Cornwall before 1848 and deaths in Redruth for an Edwin Harris after 1848.

1855 looks to be the first birth reg in Vic.
