Hi Guys,
I'm back again. This time a bit more recent. I'm looking for more information about my uncle Bill "William Parker" Born Bradford 1918 I believe. He served in the Second World War, North Africa I believe with the Royal Artillery or maybe even the Desert Rats. His wife was called Dolly but unsure of her actual name or when they married. I don't believe they had children. I was told he had a Pub in Bradford and I dug up some info that may be him as Landlord of the Barrack Tavern and possibly an Off License. He may have also worked on the Railway. I never met him and believe he died in 1977. Oh and Mother Catherine Higgins, Father John Charles Parker of Rhine Street.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Steve

Thanks for that. For some reason he has been the hardest to find info on. I found what might be him regarding pub license but the document was difficult to read. Appreciate you help.

Hi,
I don't know if he died before his wife or after. I seem to have he'd been a railway worker maybe from a census. Family hearsay says he had a Pub.

It's a shame they never had a bunch of children, as their births would have filled in some information of what he did for his occupation etc. through the years between his marriage and eventual death.
This is similar to the years between the UK census from 1841 to 1911 and 1939 register. Large gaps that everyone tries to fill with info. Over the years there's always bits and bobs that pop up from unexpected sources.
Just a thought, have looked through, or able to scan through local newspapers, online or the Library.
