A tree has William's parents as:

William F Penfold and Sarah Marchant m. 1795 London. Image has the witnesses as John Marchant and possibly W Finch.

No occ.s unfortunately..

Geoff

Edit: not convincing :(

Thanks Geoff.

I'd go with this one but census show William born abt 1799.

William Penfold
Spouse: Sarah Gilbert
Record Type: Marriage by Licence
Event Date: 8 Aug 1801
Parish: Westminster St Martin in the Fields
Borough: Westminster
Register Type: Bishop's Transcript

This is the right family for my tree but can't tell which Sarah it is unless we can find pob for them.

1841
HO107 Piece 1068 Book/Folio 5/10 Page 15
Civil Parish: Tooting Graveney
County: Surrey
Registration District: Wandsworth & Clapham
Address: Angel Court
PENFOLD, William M 75 Surrey
PENFOLD, Sarah F 69 Surrey
PENFOLD, Mary F 30 Surrey
STONE, Sarah F 21 Surrey

There is nothing in census or bap of children or death notice or burial or probate that has a middle for for William born abt 1799.

This looks like her in 1851

Civil Parish: Tooting Graveney
County: Surrey
RD: Wandsworth
Sub-RD: Putney
ED: 1a; HO107; Piece: 1579; Folio: 210; Page: 22

Sarah Penfold 79 [b. Streatham, Surrey. Laundress]
[Address = Angel Court, which matches the 1841 cencus]

1861 is interesting she has a niece with her..

Civil Parish: Tooting Graveney
County/Island: Surrey
RD: Wandsworth
Sub-RD: Streatham
ED: 12; RG 9; Piece: 376; Folio: 74; Page: 16

Sarah Penfold 89 [b. Matham, Surrey. Laundress] Could be Streatham on image.

Thanks Geoff.

Streatham and Mitcham and Morden are not far apart and Coulsdon is a bit further south.

I think Ann Dyer holds the key but ... we should check this Sarah out more too:

Sub-RD: Putney

Thanks Geoff.

So no other William (F.) and Sarah and family in 1841?

Any death/burial for a William F. old enough to fit marriage to Marchant?
