I'm trying to track down William Samuel ST JOHN, born about 1798 in Devon.

I have his wife and children, living at 96 Navy Row, Plymouth in the 1851 census. She is listed as married, an annuitant. I can't find him, or his death, so I'm wondering if they are separated.

The only possible husbands I can find on Ancestry are:

William ST JOHN, b. about 1795, spouse Jane, living in Kent
or
William ST JOHN, b. about 1803, spouse Jane, living in Gloucester

Can't check these as my library has switched from Ancestry to FMP, which lists zero results (as it does for almost everything!) He doesn't appear on Freecen. Can anyone give any extra details on these entries?

Thanks
Dianne

Yes, I think that must be him - many of the family were baptised in Charles Church. The fathers name is Patrick according to the Jillard website (listed by leefer, above) - Karen got much her info from Devon FHS.

I didn't realise how popular the name William has been until I started genealogy - both my family and my husband's use it extensively!
