That's the only Sawyer baptism at that church in the index.

This one is not far away.

There are several trees and they don't agree.

If 1887 is the right death for William then the baptism records for the children have no middle name for him.

This is the connection to my tree.

??
One of these is an error. They didn't marry in two churches.

NSW Marriage V18304905 3B/1830 SAWYER WILLIAM H - PUCKERIDGE ANN - CA ?

NSW Marriage V1830176 14/1830 SAWYER WILLIAM H - PUCKERIDGE ANN - CJ ?

So, the question is: Are they the correct parents for Mary Jane??

Thanks gibbo.

I bought a new keyboard and mouse combo today so now I can't blame the old keyboard with missing letters on the keys.

NSW Bap SAWYER ELLEN 547/1829 V1829547 13 WILLIAM - ANN - CW= CofE Abercrombie District, Bathurst

One tree has children born in Sydney, then Bathurst, then Appin, then Yass and then Gundagai. ?? The tree has ignored the Presbyterian baptisms and lumped all the CofE as children of William H and Ann Puckeridge. I think there has to be more than the one William & Ann family so possibly one marriage not in NSW index.

I doubt very much the 1887 death in Balmain is correct. Well it could be the death of the William H who married Ann Puckeridge but I think the death you found would fit better as the father of Mary Jane born Gundagai.

Another problem.

Says William senior but no CofE baptism in NSW index for William junior. Only a Presbyterian one in a volume I can't look up so can't even get the occupation.

NSW Bap V184231 153/1842 SAWYER WILLIAM - WILLIAM - ANN - PA= Presbyterian St Peter's Campbelltown.

NSW Bap V1836999 20/1836 SAWYER JOHN - WILLIAM - ANN - CI= CofE Campbelltown, St Peter's

I'll probably go to the local library tomorrow and then to another library on Friday to look up the marriages and baptisms.

Been granted land, would that be squatter by profession? As stated on the baptism.

Death notice states ..... obtaining a grant of 100 acres near Berrima as a reward for his services...

MI= CofE Gundaroo; Gunning; Yass

Very hard to know if it's one family who moved Sydney, then Bathurst, then Appin, then Yass and then Gundagai. I doubt it. Checking the sequence again it's Sydney, Bathurst, Berrima, Bathurst, Campbelltown, Appin, Yass, Gundagai.
