Hi all.

My wife was adopted in 1964, and was born 1963 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

Her birth name was Wilma Scott. (Both birth cert & adopted birth cert in my wife's possession), and she was born illegitimate.

Her parents were William Stewart(Stuart) Sneddon and Martha Scott(formerly Cochrane).

William Stewart Sneddon had two other children, William & Robert Sneddon.

These two boys were born before 1957, as their mother(no name) had died by 1956.

On the case history sheet(Warwick County Council), their religion was Church of Scotland.

William Stewart Sneddon was a postman on my wifes birth cert, and his G.P.O. number was 124.

At the time of birth, they were living at Springfield Road, Camp Hill, Nuneaton, and were in lodgings under threat of eviction there.

William & Robert were in temporary foster care in Whitehouse Crescent, Nuneaton, Warwickshire(Name and address of foster mother in my wifes possession).
These two boys were later living with Mrs.Scott & their father, at Paddiford Place, Stockingford, Nuneaton.

My wife had tried to track down her adoption records for a long time, and none were found under the name of SCOTT. But thanks to a tenacious researcher, found them under the name of SCORR**.(**Hand written, and mis-read).

My wife has registered with Identity & Passport Service in Southport, in the Adoption Contact Register.

I would also think, that they were both Scottish, and even William & Robert may have been as well.

So if anyone can help further with this, or if anyone comes across this while surfing the internet, and recognises names and addresses, my wife would like to try and find her birth parents or her half siblings.

I know this is a long shot, but stranger things have happened.

This has been a long battle for my dearest wife, and I live in hope of some sort of pleasant closure for her.

Hubby, Steve.:)
