Lots of William JAMES in shipping records but can't see one with Ann(e). I still can't see her death in Lancashire so I'd better check all of England.

I can't find William in 1881 census.

I can see no JAMES deaths in Qld. with father = William and mother = COOK(E)

I can't find the 1870 marriage or any baptisms of children on the Lancs OPC site.

Lots of possible Anne COOKEs.

Have you William and Ann on the 1871 census?

Just been looking and I can't see them in 1871 or 1881.

No sign of any children born in Qld. from 1870 onwards with father = William & mother = Ann*

One possibility. We have 2x William Vaughan JAMES and the one in my tree born 1850 didn't marry in 1870.

There are no parents listed on the 1927 death reg. So another possibility. The one in my tree born 1850 Liverpool didn't die in Qld. in 1927.

The tree that has his birth as 1864 has the correct parents. How you can have both parents but no birth for William is curious.

Looking at the middle names of the children born in Qld. to William and Agnes DAVIDSON I would say it is my William V.

The middle name Anderson is a pointer to it being the right Thomas. His mother's middle name is Anderson and that's his grandmother's maiden name.

So Thomas arrived before his mother and the others.
