Hi, my first post for help, although I think it niy on impossible. lol

William Wilson was born circa 1820 in Sussex, he joined the Marines as in title ... He married a Portsmouth girl and he was living there, I have details ..

Ok, daughter born in Portsea , Hants. 20 Sept 1847 .. Her mother remarried as a widow (on marriage Cert) 13 May 1851 in Portsea, Hants., so why can't I find Williams death Cert?? He died youngish, so was their any wars going on between those dates where he may of been killed in another Country .. so no Cert? This is certainly a 'Brickwall' that refuses to be broken down .. grrr.

According to the GRO Marine register there was a William Wilson who died at sea in 1846 but it gives no other info unfortunately
I believe you can access info about the Royal Marines on the National Archives site as well
