Thanks gibbo. ;)

So 23 Dec 1884.

2 births 1885 - 1900 with parents William & Helen but one is not Ron or Ronald.

Daughters born 1885 and 1888. Those are the two in the index.

If this is Helen's death then the Charles is right but the middle initial is not:

28760/1943 WOODRUFF HELEN - CHARLES ROBERT - ANNE - MOSMAN

WIFE AND SON ATTACKED.
MAN FOUND NOT GUILTY.
ORDER FOR DETENTION.
...
The jury returned a verdict of not guilty and Mr. Justice Ferguson directed that

The Governor must have let him out because he died in NZ in 1919.

Thanks.

I can't see one in Ryerson or TROVE for Helen if that is her death in 1943.

Can't find a burial in Independent Rookwood or Eastern Suburbs or Woronora.

On #2 posted on here the marriage notice stated

" the late John Woodruff, H. M. Customs, Melbourne,"

Working with that i found John's death. He would have been born around 1828 and Deal is in England... i googled that bit

The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956)
Tuesday 14 July 1863

WOODRUFF.-On the 13th inst., at Emerald Hill, Mr.John Woodruff, formerly of Deal, and for some year« landing walter in H.M. Customs, Melbourne, aged thirty-five year».

No mention of his wife's name so still dont know the name of William's mother:rolleyes: All i could find on her was the below.

The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956)
Wednesday 9 September 1863
,to:tbe widow of John Woodruff, weigher, £6U 19j.2d.;

There is a full story of his death in the below paper, its a large article so not posting the whole thing. Appears they only had the one kid with the paper stating " child". He died a few weeks after been hit by a train:rolleyes:

The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956)
Wednesday 15 July 1863

It appeared from the evidence adduced at the inquest that the deceased John Woodruff was married, and leaves a wife and child. Ho was employed In the Customs ser- vice, and lived at Emerald hill.

John was working for customs in 1858 to. his mentioned in a article dated 1858. Not post this whole article.

Portland Guardian and Normanby General Advertiser (Vic. : 1842 - 1876)
Wednesday 18 August 1858

was summoned by John Woodruff, lardiug waiter at the Customs, for placing stone ballast on the old Jetty,

So we don't know where Ronald was born. Can't find a reg.

I cant find a death notice for this Helen but if it is her this will give date of death.

NSW archives Probate
Item number or control symbol: Series 4-289911
Title: Helen Woodruff - Date of Death 07/11/1943, Granted on 01/05/1944

There is a auction to sell her stuff in the following paper tho it gives no names etc that could help confirm its the right Helen.
The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954)
Friday 14 January 1944

Thanks. Normally I'd check the address against the Electoral Roll. Can't find Ronald in E/R after 1930. This looks like Helen:

Helen Woodruff 1943 New South Wales Warringah

Right location for the auction.

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 18 November 1943 p.2
