I'm Ronald's grandson

I think I have a copy of his birth certificate somewhere and a few other certificates. I've got some unreliable memoires that my grandmother - Alice - put on paper and some better ones that an Uncle (Alice's son in law) put together before his wife died. I have some of it in a tree on Genes Reunited

Thanks gibbo. ;)

So 23 Dec 1884.

2 births 1885 - 1900 with parents William & Helen but one is not Ron or Ronald.

Daughters born 1885 and 1888. Those are the two in the index.

If this is Helen's death then the Charles is right but the middle initial is not:

28760/1943 WOODRUFF HELEN - CHARLES ROBERT - ANNE - MOSMAN
I can't follow the context of what you are quoting here. My father was Robert Charles Woodruff if that adds any significance.

Hello Peter,

I've lost the thread so I'll start with the connection that is in my tree.

NZ marriage 1919/653 Alice Eunice Verdrian - Ronald Woodruff

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 3 May 1919 p.16
MARRIAGES
WOODRUFF - PERDRIAU.-At St James' Church, Auckland, by Rev. Grant, Ronald, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Woodruff, of Sydney, to Alice Eunice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Perdriau, Drummoyne.

1930 NSW Electoral Roll - Robertson - Muswellbrook
WOODRUFF Alice Eunice, Cook street, Muswellbrook,
WOODRUFF Ronald Mackay, Cook street, Muswellbrook, sales manager

Death 19479/1957 WOODRUFF RONALD MACKAY - WILLIAM JOHN M - HELEN - CHATSWOOD

WOODRUFF, Ronald Mackay, September 14, 1957, at his sister's residence, Kirribilli.
Privately cremated.

So, to fill a gap I was seeking Ronald's birth.

Regards,

Dave

I don't have Rondald's birth certificate, I have his marriage certificate.

The certificate shows Ronald Woodruff age 27 (as of 22/02/1919) born in Launceston Tasmania with Helen Woodruff (nee Thatcher) and Mackay Woodruff (occupation Farmer) as Ronald's Parents.

Family notes show Ronald's full name as Ronald Mackay Woodruff. He was rendered unfit for military service in WWII because of the skull fracture - that may be recorded somewhere.

My aunt recalls Ronald having a sister named Dorothy or Dot.

Thanks Peter.

That fills in a few gaps.

I will have a look on the Tas. fiche next time I'm at the library.

If you have any queries then ask and someone here will try to help you.

Regards,

Dave
