Hi Dave

Sorry I'm not having much luck finding Evan Williams. As he is with his brother William in 1851 also checked for him and still no luck.

Check out this link, this may be their births and parents Evan & Jane WILLIAMS including more siblings. Also parents marriage.

Hi cranky,

Using your information in the 1851 census, the elder brother was born
Birmingham, Warwickshire
Father is listed as Evan THOMAS and wife Jane.
Could you therefore check the 1841 census for this area?
Obviously they have moved from Birmingham at some time between 1828 and
1833, but with Evan Thomas WILLIAMS born 1833 in Tamworth, Staffs I would have thought that they should be around there. Unless they went back to relatives at the 1841 census date. SO they might be back in Birmingham.

Cheers

Possibly around the 1808 yrs
May have other children....
Ann Jane WILLIAMS born 1832 Birmingham
Edward WILLIAMS
Francis WILLIAMS
Hi Dave

Not having any luck finding the family in the 1841 census.
You would think they would be in the Staffordshire area, Evan being born their in 1833. Nothing in Warwickshire. They just can't have vanished.

I did find Francis WILLIAMS in 1851 Rugeley, do you want this one.

Hi Cranky,

A classic case of the disappearing ancestors.

If it is the right family,
there would be

Evan WILLIAMS aged approx 34?
Jane WILLIAMS 32?
Evan Thomas WILLIAMS b: Tamworth aged 7
Ann Jane WILLIAMS b: Birmingham aged 9
Edward WILLIAMS b: Birmingham aged 11
Francis WILLIAMS b: Birmingham aged 13
William Price WILLIAMS b: Birmingham aged 14
John Hinkley WILLIMAS b: Birmingham aged 16

Hi Dave

Can you hear the agro in my typing:mad:

Yes that's the family I found yesterday in the I.G.I. Maybe I have to type WILLIAMS backwards to find them.

Hi cranky,
re. 1841 census

Could you try a search just for
Ann (Jane) WILLIAMS b: Birmingham aged 9

Being the younger child she may be listed with her family and might be easier to locate than her parents.

Cheers

Hi Dave

Sorry still no luck with Ann and her family. Can you think of any other family they be with, in-laws etc, perhaps they are transcribed under that name.

Oh Dear, how frustrating.
Evan WILLIAMS (father)

He married in 1825 in Birmingham to Jane Hinkley

Listed as a Brewer in Rugeley on his sons marriage cert.
that was in 1855. (but that doesn't mean he was alive eh?)

Last child born was Evan Thomas WILLIAMS in 1834 at Tamworth, Staffs.
Even if he died prior to 1841, I am sure that his wife would still be around..unless she remarried.

Thanks
