Hello Julie,

Thanks for looking.

Was hoping some very OLD ones might still be alive in 1841 such as a Giles or Betty who married in 1782 or George.

I can't find a baptism for the Giles in 1841.

It can wait a bit longer. I've ordered a copy of Ann's death certificate. I hope it's worth getting.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

Yes, it seems there are several late baptisms and several births years before parents actually married involving different families at that time in the area of Bitton.

The death certificate may not answer the question of Ann's parents. I may not be able to go back one more generation and I may not be able to find her siblings.

IF her parents were Thomas & Elizabeth then there is one more:

Elizabeth c. 25 Sep 1789 St George's Bristol, Gloucester, England

Daniel Peacock (Bachelor of this parish) & Ann Wilmot (Spinster of this parish)
10th November 1820 at Bitton, St Mary - Banns

Just because it says 'of this parish' does not mean Ann was born in the parish. Does not mean her father has to be Giles. Although Hanham fits very nicely IF this is spouse Daniel:

Daniel Peacock - 2nd March 1794 at Hanham
Age - 2 years
Son of Isaac & Hannah

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

From the Bitton Families site:

I am researching the following families in the Bitton area - OLLIS, HOLCOMBE/OAKHAM, WILMOTT, LONG, STONE, BRYANT, HARRIS, BROWN, PEACOCK, BRAIN and PANELL. The OLLIS and WILMOTT families are my main research interests and I am always looking for more evidence for and information about the origins of the various immigrant brassworking families (including the OLLIS family) as it has not yet been properly established from where they came or precisely when.

I'll send an email off today.

Regards,

Dave
