Where did father of Charles come from Dave?

I found these births under Harris with father as William, see what you think

V1797446 4/1797 HARRIS MARY R WILLIAM ELIZABETH

V1799843 1A/1799 HARRIS MARIA WILLIAM ELIZABETH
V1799606 4/1799 HARRIS MARIA R WILLIAM ELIZABETH

V1798710 1A/1798 HARRIS JOHN WILLIAM ELIZABETH
V1798522 4/1798 HARRIS JOHN R WILLIAM ELIZABETH

Thanks for looking but that is the first, then John 1798 then Maria 1799.

:2fun: :2fun:

Oh dear. Twice in a row I fell for that.

Registered under the mother's name.

Charles ? - HERE

So it appears from the birth indexes that Elizabeth Harris was with a William Robinson and not a Charles. Maybe that tree got Charles from the birth index of Mary Robinson.
You need anything else on the Robinson/Harris lot?

Every tree i look at states their father as Charles, so why William on the birth indexes, a error maybe??

Don't know why the trees have it as Charles.

Maybe Elizabeth pulled a name out of the air for the baptisms. No mention she was in a de facto with a William.

This one has been left while I scroll through the huge pdf.

There is sure to be other stuff to find to fill gaps for these brothers.

I had a quick look for more info on Elizabeth and didn't find much. No ToL or CoF or CP or Permission to marry or anything on NSW Archives.

Son John ROBINSON married Martha HOARE sister of Elizabeth who married James RIXON in the RIXON & SPEARS topic. That tree also has the father as Charles.
