Hello everyone,
My 5 * G Grandfather William Hastings was a Woollen Manfacturer in Rochdale Lancashire.
He was a partner in the firm Hastings, Fisher and Company which was dissolved in 1814 and then carried on the business on his own account until his death in 1820.
can anyone advise me on how I might be able to find out more information about William’s business?

Many Thanks,
Lee

Thanks for your reply Brentor boy - unfortunately that is a different and ,as far as I can see, unconnected William Hastings who confusingly was also a Woollen Manufacturer in Hastings.
my William Hastings died in 1820 and was survived by one son William Hilton Hastings who did not continue the business but became a Clerk before dying in slightly mysterious circumstances shortly after being released from police custody for drunkenness!
