Death of Mudgee's Oldest Resident
MR. ROBERT MARTIN.
Mudgee has lost its oldest resident in the person of Mr. Robert Martin, who passed away on Tuesday last at the Mudgee District Hospital. Deceased was a native of Scotland, and was 98 years of age. He came to the Mudgee district in 1836, and had lived here up to the time of his death. His wife predeceased him by 19 years. Deceased was well known in this district, and he leaves nine children to mourn their loss. The interment took place on Friday afternoon last in the R.C. portion of the Mudgee general cemetery.

Wright, of Buckaroo, is the possessor of a tract of land on
the slope of the mountain, where there is an abundance of
splendid limestone. He has been working it for years in a
steady jogtrot way, and because of its superior quality has
always found a ready sale. He has realised a competence,
and given over the property to his sons, ...
