WW2 pic..

I have had this pic in my family albums for as long as I can remember.I have no idea where it came from. My Dad passed before I thought to ask about it and the rest of my family is either confused or makes me confused when I ask questions about the past.
I am a little confused already because the flag in one pic is either the "Canadian Red Ensign" or the "Canadian Blue Ensign"(I'm going for the Red),but people I have asked about the pics say the men are wearing British uniforms.
Any and all thoughts welcome
Also,if anyone could identify the building,that would be great.

Hi Joslyn,
If they were Canadians they would have been wearing red shoulder flashes saying "CANADA" on British uniforms as all dominion troops at that time would have worn British Army unifofms with country flashes.
