RECRUITING RALLY AT KILMARNOCK
Kilmarnock National Service Committee have made arrangements for a big recruiting rally and demonstration to be held in the town on Saturday, May 6.
The 2nd Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers is sending its military and pipe bands, Bren gun and anti-aircraft gun detachments, and mechanical units.
Also taking part will be detachments from the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and the county territorial units – the 4th 5th R.S.F. 79th Lowland Brigade R.A., and Ayrshire Yeomanry, and about 500 people from the local civilian National Service units.
There will be a parade through the streets of the town, and in the evening military demonstrations with running commentaries will be given in Rugby Park. Included in these will be aeroplane and searchlight displays.
Similar demonstrations will be given at Ayr and Ardrossan during the same week.
