Oh. Details for John do not say 'sister on board'

LANE Jane 25
LANE Jessie 12 (tw) travelling with LANE, S

Oh. Jessie Lane has to be Jessie Yard - Jane's sister. Aged 5 in 1841 census.

Thanks Emeltee.

A death in Sydney for a Jessie McCrea with the right parents but I don't read the married name as that on shipping record.

The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Tue 17 Sep 1918 Page 6 Family Notices
McCREA.—September 15, 1918, at her residence, 465 (or 485)
Liverpool-street, Darlinghurst, Mrs. Jessey McCrea, aged 82 years.

Must be that one living in Liverpool St.

Mary Upstill married William Cross of Curry Rivel in Shepton Beauchamp 23 November 1816

Mary Cross married Samuel Yard Isle Abbotts St Mary 9 November 1821.

Marriage entry does not give marital status so doesn't specify that she is a widow.

There is a burial fr a William Cross aged 31 in North Curry 7 November 1819 which could be Mary's first husband.

Thanks Emeltee.

No other marriage so that is possible with McLeay > McCrea.

That was the only shipping record image I got at the State Library today. Everything else had to be transcribed because no images could be taken off other records.

If the Jessie Lane aged 12, travelling with Jane and Samuel Lane is Jessie Yard, Jane's sister then that implies she married in Australia. Any Yard/McCrea or McLeay marriages coming up?

It has to be Jessie Yard but there is no sign of the marriage.

First child born in 1858 in the index.

MCCREA JANE 145/1858 WILLIAM JESSIE - SYDNEY

Followed by Samuel, Mary, Juliana, Blanche, Hugh, Emma, William ...
